The Abbottstown Fire Company was established in 1924, and is located about midway between York and Gettysburg, PA on Route 30. As the county line for Adams and York County is 2 blocks from our station, we have first due area in both Adams And York Counties. We provide protection for Abbottstown Borough, Berwick Township, and Hamilton Township in Adams County. We also provide protection for Paradise Township in York County. We respond to approximately 225 calls per year. The Abbottstown Fire Company is currently considering building a new station to replace the existing one, which hasn't seen renovations in decades. We're investigating a little bit with us and the Eastern Adams Regional Police maybe building together. The projected location of the station is at the northwest corner of Kineman and Lobell roads.
Led by Chief Dale Reichert, The Abbottstown Fire Company currently operates a Spartan / E-One Engine, a Freightliner / E-One 1500 gallon Tanker, and a Ford F-550 / Reading Brush Truck. The Abbottstown Fire Company has members that continue to serve and support ACVESA. Lieutenant Pam Reichert currently serves as the ACVESA Secretary, and Chief Dale Reichert currently serves as the ACVESA Membership Secretary. The Abbottstown Fire Company is located at 38 East King Street in Abbottstown, PA. More information can be found at: http://www.acvesa.org/member_depts/Abbottstown/index.htm
