Arendtsville - Company 5

Established in 1911, the Arendtsville Fire Company is located in Arendtsville Borough protecting Arendtsville Borough, Franklin, Butler, and Menallen Townships. A large portion of our area involves Apples, and places such as the Apple Harvest Festival, Piney Apple Golf Course, and the large amount of Apple orchards. Arendtsville is also the home of the South Mountain Fair. In February Engine 5-1 was placed for sale when we started specking out a new engine to replace it. Within two weeks the engine was sold. We will be purchasing a new engine from Sutphen Fire Apparatus, and should be ready for service at the beginning of 2008. The Arendtsville Fire Company responds to approximately 250 combined Fire, and EMS responses per year.

Led by Chief Steve Schlosser the Arendtsville Fire Company currently operates one 1987 Sutphen 65' Tower, one 1989 Ford F-350 Brush Truck,  One 1999 Ford F-550 Special Unit, and a Canteen food trailer. The Canteen is used at soccer tournaments in Gettysburg, and events such as the South Mountain Fair. The Arendtsville Fire Company is located at 48 Pearl Street in Arendtsville, PA
