New Oxford - Company 13

 

The Heidlersburg Fire Company  was established in 1962, and is located 11 miles north of Gettysburg. The Heidlersburg Fire Company protects the Tyrone, Butler, Straban, Huntington Townships, and the surrounding areas. We respond to approximately 200 Fire, Rescue, and Medical calls per year. In September of 2007 the Heidlersburg Fire Company was awarded a federal grant in the amount of $237,500 for a new tanker. Recently the company received the new chassis from Mack for this new tanker. Over the next few months the tank and other features will be added. In late 2007 the Heidlersburg Fire Company decided to place there brush truck for sale. It was sold to the Lake Meade Fire Company, repainted by Pennsylvania Fire Apparatus, and placed into service as Brush 26 in January of 2008.

 

 

Led by Chief Jim Lady, The Heidlersburg Fire Company currently operates a Mack 1250 gmp Engine, a Mack 1500 gpm Engine, a Ford 2200 gallon Tanker, and a Chevy Quad Cab Squad. The Heidlersburg Fire Company has members that continue to serve and support ACVESA. Firefighter Jere Lady leads the Halloween parade committee, and Chief Jim Lady currently serves as the ACVESA Vice President.

The Heidlersburg Fire Company is located at 2720 Heildersburg Road in Gettysburg,  PA.
