The Littlestown Fire Company located approximately 2 miles north of the Mason Dixon Line on Route 97, was established in 1858 under the name "Alpha Fire Company No.1". The Littlestown Fire Company protects the Littlestown Borough, the Germany, Union, Mt Joy, Mt Pleasant Townships, and the surrounding areas. We respond to approximately 300 Fire and Rescue calls per year, and 500 Medical Calls. In 1999 when the new engine 201 was purchased, the engine known as Engine 202 was donated to a fire department in Arkansas. A committee is currently seeking information on the current apparatus needs of the department. Our training committee is currently working toward training as many members to the Firefighter I, and Firefighter II levels as possible.
Led by Chief Bill Sheely, The Littlestown Fire Company currently operates an 1 Pierce Dash Engine, 1 Pierce Lance 2500 Gallon Engine-Tanker, 1 Pierce Lance Heavy Rescue, 1 Ford F500 / Pierce Brush truck, 2 Ford E-450 BLS Ambulances, a Chevy Silverado Service Truck, and the newest addition to the fleet a 2006 Ford F-350 Special Unit.
