Medic 28 was established in1984, placing it's first unit in service on September 1, 1984. Medic 28 is stationed at the emergency department of the Gettysburg Hospital. 9 Full time, and 19 Part time paramedics, and Pre-Hospital RN's work under the medical direction of medic 28 medical director Greg Codori. Medic 28 responds to advanced medical emergencies in the majority of Adams County. Medic 28 responds to approximately 2400 calls per year. In 2004, Medic 28 celebrated it's 20th anniversary. Medic 28 participates in Adams County Young Driver Safety Program, community kids safety days, and in area high school prom promise events.

Led by ALS Coordinator Bob Hower, Medic 28 currently operates a 2007 Ford F350 w/ Swab box, a 2003 Ford F250 w/ Swab box, and a 1999 Ford F250 used as a reserve.

Medic 28 is located at the Gettysburg Hospital at 147 Getty Street in Gettysburg,  PA.
