The Midway Fire Company  was established in January of 1956, and is located between Hanover, and McSherrystown in Conewago Township. The Midway Fire Company is also located near the Adams / York County line. In June of 2004, four of the five fire companies that serve Conewago township voted to merge, which left Midway Fire Company remaining separate. In December of 2006 Conewago Township voted to assign the Midway first due area to SAVES (the merged company), and withdrawal there funding. As of January 1, 2007 the Midway is self sufficient fire company. The Midway Fire Company continues to participate in parades, and is still requested as a transfer company for some stations in Adams County.

Led by Chief Robert Garman, The Midway Fire Company currently operates a KME 1250 GPM/1250 GWT Engine, a 1000 GPM/500 GWT Engine, a  2005 Ford E-450 Ambulance, a Chevy Suburban Special Unit, and a Hovercraft. At the November 1, 2007 ACVESA meeting the Midway Fire company provided copies of there valid insurance to the other Adams County companies.
