The New Oxford Fire Company was established in January of 1887, and is located 10 miles east of Gettysburg. The New Oxford Fire Company protects the New Oxford Borough, the Oxford, Berwick, Straban, Mt Pleasant, Hamilton Townships, and the surrounding areas. We respond to approximately 400 Fire and Rescue calls per year, and 1300 Medical Calls. In late 2006 the New Oxford Fire Company replaced it's1987 engine, with a ladder truck, with engine capabilities. This unit is the companies first aerial device, and was placed in service in January of 2007. Also in 2007 a new ambulance was purchased. We currently have a committee looking into renovations to our kitchen, and restroom facilities.
Led by Chief Steve Rabine, The New Oxford Fire Company currently operates a Pierce Sabre Engine, a Pierce Lance Heavy Rescue, a Pierce Dash Ladder Truck, 2 Ford F-450 BLS Ambulances, a Ford F-350 Service Truck, and a Orion Rescue Sled.
