The Southeastern Adams Volunteer Emergency Services was established in June of 2004, by merging the Conewago, Centennial, McSherrystown, and Brustown Fire Companies. SAVES is located 3 miles west of Hanover, and protects the McSherystown Borough, Conewago, Mt Pleasant, Union Townships, and the surrounding areas. We respond to approximately 400 Fire and Rescue calls per year, and 900 Medical Calls. SAVES was the host of the 2007 ACVESA Convention held in August. The Southeastern Adams County Volunteer Emergency Services is currently in the planning process of building a new 36,989 square foot firehouse on a 15-acre plot of the Klunk Farm in the area of Food Lion on Route 116. In September of 2006, SAVES was recognized by the Pennsylvania State Fire Commissioners Office as a 50% participating department in the fire certification program.
Led by Chief Andy Weaver, The Southeastern Adams Volunteer Emergency Services currently operates a 75' Seagrave Quint, a Freightliner Rescue Truck by American Fire Rescue, a Seagrave Engine, a Seagrave Engine/Tanker, a Seagrave Tanker, a Ford F350 Brush Truck, a Ford F350 Service Truck, 2 Ford E450 PL Custom BLS Ambulances, and a John Deere Buck used for special rescues, and fires.
