The Adams County Volunteer Emergency Services Training Facility was built and dedicated in 2004.The ACVESA Training Committee was formed in 1985 and there 12 person committee has been active ever since. On average the ACVESTC offers about 37 classes per year, with 521 persons attending a total of 12,610 training hours. ACVESTC is a Pennsylvania Department of Health accreditation continuing education sponsor. The ACVESTC has the following classes scheduled for the remainder of 2008. Exterior Firefighter, Interior Firefighter, EMT Basic, Basic Fire Police, Haz-Mat Operations Refresher, EVOC, Haz-Mat Awareness, BVR Technician, Rope Rescue II, Barn Fires, and Silo Emergencies, Haz-Mat Operations, ICS100, ICS 300, ICS 400, and Fire Conference.
The ACVESTC has the following simulators, and equipment. A Forcible Entry Simulator, Sprinkler System Simulator, Roof Simulators, Dry Standpipe System, Dry Hydrants, A drafting pad at pond, Fire, Rescue, EMS, Hazmat, and Fire Prevention Films, and loose equipment such as ladders, SCBA's, Rope Rescue Equipment, and Hand tools. The ACVESTC has the following apparatus. A 1979 International / Hamerly 750 GPM, 750 gallon Engine (formally engine 2-1), and a 1983 C-30 Stepvan Air Cascade Unit (formally Air 1).
