York Springs - Company 9

 

The York Springs Fire Company was established in January of 1926, and is located in northeast Adams county approximately 15 miles north of Gettysburg near the York / Adams County line. The York Springs Fire Company protects the York Springs Borough, the Latimore, Huntington, Tyrone Townships, and the surrounding areas. There apparatus responds to approximately 325 combined fire, and ems calls per year. In April of 2007 the company placed in service a new 2600 gallon tanker, which improved the ISO rating in our area. In March of 2006 the company was awarded an $880 grant from the Department of Interior used for wildland firefighting equipment. York Springs was also awarded a 2007 Federal Grant for $19,000 used to purchase a washer/extractor, 5" Hose, Flashlights, and a thermal imaging camera.

 

 

Led by Chief Randy Lory, The York Springs Fire Company currently operates a 1999 E-One Engine, a 2003 Pierce Quantum Rescue-Engine, a 2006 Volvo / 4 guys 2600 gallon tanker, and a 2004 Ford / Horton Ambulance.
