| Title: | Firefighter I Certification Exam |
| Location: | Adams County Emergency Services Training Facility |
| Description: | Candidates are required to complete an application for certification examinations. You must complete the application with all necessary prerequisites attached and a permission to bill form in order to be enrolled into the certification exam. HACC will review the applications for completeness and notify the candidate of acceptance into the examination. Any incomplete applications will be returned to the candidate. The written application is part of the certification process. Candidates are expected to be able to read, evaluate the application directions and complete the application in a timely fashion with little assistance. To obtain application either go to the Pennsylvania State Fire Commissioner’s Office website or contact Tammy at the Adams County Department of Emergency Services. |

| Prerequisites: | Structural Burn Session (PSFA-SBS), HACC Fire Operations Module D or Interior Firefighter w/structural burn (or equivalent program meeting Structural Burn requirements recognized by the State Fire Academy, current CPR certification (adult, child and infant)), current basic first aid training (or higher level of EMS certification), and current NFPA 472 Hazardous Materials Operations Level Training. |
| Minimum Age Requirement: | 18 on or before the first day of class |
| Student Needs: | Pen/pencil, notebook and Structural Firefighters Protective Clothing, eye protection and SCBA. |
| Student Dress: | All clothing shall be neat, clean, in good repair, presentable, and represent the department that the individual is representing. Participants are to report in clothing suitable for hands-on training. |
