Title: PENNFIRS Firehouse Software
Location: Adams County Emergency Services Training Facility
Description: This program is designed to give participants the knowledge and skills necessary to use Firehouse Software to do NFIRS reporting to the ACDES and meet the requirements required by many grant applications. Topics that will be covered will include how to use Firehouse Software to accomplish the following: Company Incident Reporting, Staff Participation Reporting, Exporting NFIRS records to ACDES, running reports for department and municipality use. We will begin with basic incident reporting and exporting reports to ACDES. As time permits we will demonstrate some of the more in depth features of the program and generating reports. Some participants may not desire to learn the more in depth features and may be excused from the class as they wish. I will commit myself to the length of time needed to answer individual questions.

What Does Training Do For You?

I recently had one of those "back step meetings" with several other firefighters and the discussion led to the topic of training and what we should be doing for monthly training. As many of you know, I have a very passionate approach when it comes to training. I just sat and listened to see where the conversation led. I heard several different views, everything from "we need to be doing more of the fun stuff," to "we did that enough in essentials class," and my favorite "I do that at work, no need to do it here". After pondering this for several evenings I came to several conclusions worth noting.
